Itshetseng SACCOS is based on the values of self-helping responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, solidarity and caring for others. On the basis of these values, the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) has adopted the following seven principles to serve as guidelines by which co-operatives, the world over, put their values into practice: Voluntary and Open Membership, Democratic Member Control, Member Economic Participation Autonomy and Independence, Education, Training and Information, Co-operation among Co-operatives, Concern for the community.
