At Brookhills Montessori School, our curriculum is based on the idea that each child is a unique individual. Our focus is on meeting each child’s developmental, social, emotional, intellectual, and educational needs. We follow the Montessori Method and provide developmentally appropriate programs for preschoolers.
We’re located in Tlokweng, Gaborone. At Brookhills we understand that parents have to work, which is why we offer a half day and a full day preschool day. We also offer fun holiday programs.
At Brookhills Montessori School, we offer a wide range of child-centered activities in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment. This gives children every opportunity to have fun while learning. We love to celebrate our cultural diversity. We encourage multicultural learning through respect and understanding.
Sandra Nnebo is our founder and Head. When she was growing up she saw herself working in an office, dressed in a skirt suit, stiletto heels, chauffeurs and board meetings. That was until she had her first child and everything changed.
She dreamt, ate, and talked about everything children. When her first child was around 2 years old she decided to study Early Childhood Education. It was during this process that she came across the Montessori Philosophy and that was it.
Sandra’s passion became children, family and MONTESSORI.
Sandra Nnebo went on to study the Montessori Method and was so moved by it that she didn’t want to keep it to herself. She started implementing the things she learned at home with her own children. When her last born was 4, she thought why not set up a Montessori school? That way other children can enjoy being free to explore, absorb and excel in a safe and well-prepared environment.
Today she drives herself to work and definitely can’t wear a skirt suit in the classroom or stilettos. Instead, Sandra Nnebo says the best thing about her day is that “I go from classroom to classroom and get loads of hugs, smiles and greetings. Not to mention the stories from the wonderful children that we care for. It brightens up my day to know that you can impact so many lives and families by sharing your passion!”
Classrooms are arranged to offer challenging play and learning choices. Learning centers allow children the opportunity to explore, problem-solve and investigate. Children are exposed to whole group work, small groups, and individual instruction each day. Our thematic-based curriculum focuses on reading, writing, language, math, science, social studies, art, music, and physical fitness activities.
Included in your school fees are; Zumba, lunch, full day, Swimming in Terms 1 and 3 (twice a week) and computer lessons. We also have language lessons – Chinese, Setswana, Sign language and French.
There are also paid extra activities that you can take part in. These are Monkeynastix, Playball and Kindermusik.
